If ice cream is your favorite way to cool down during the summer, Kroger has some sweet news. The grocery giant is giving away 100,000 free pints of ice cream, making this year's promotion its biggest giveaway yet.
The annual tradition has become a hit with shoppers, and Kroger says it's all about celebrating the simple joys of summer. Think backyard barbecues, family road trips, neighborhood block parties, and fireworks on warm July nights.
"Summer is all about bringing people together to create memories that last a lifetime," said Ann Reed, Group Vice President of Our Brands at Kroger. "We've loved seeing customers come back year after year for their free pints, and now we're going bigger than ever."
Want to grab a free pint? Digital coupons will be available beginning June 19 at noon Eastern Time through Kroger's dedicated giveaway website, freekrogericecream.com. The offer is limited to one pint per person while supplies last, and if previous years are any indication, the coupons are expected to disappear quickly.
Customers can redeem their coupons from June 19 through July 3 at participating Kroger-owned stores, including Dillons and Pick 'n Save. However, the promotion is not valid in California, Colorado, Louisiana, Tennessee, or Nevada, and it does not apply at QFC locations.
The best part? The coupon can be used on any Kroger Brand ice cream pint. That includes fan-favorite classic flavors as well as the new limited-edition All-American Collection, created especially for the Fourth of July season.
One standout flavor is Banana Split Social, a patriotic twist on the old-fashioned ice cream parlor favorite. The pint features strawberry-banana ice cream swirled with chocolate and packed with pineapple pieces, delivering a nostalgic taste of summer in every scoop.
Even if you miss out on the freebie, Kroger is still offering a consolation prize. Shoppers can take advantage of a separate coupon for $1 off the purchase of any two Kroger Brand ice cream pints, valid through July 3.
So, if you're looking for an excuse to indulge this summer, you may want to set a reminder. Free ice cream doesn't come around every day.
