Let me take this time to let you know a little more about one of your biggest fans, my son Nick. Nick is a young adult with Down's syndrome. He loves your show and varied topics and banter. While I remember listening to you a few years back, he found you quite by accident while he was tuning in hoping to hear the Dodger game, (can't go a day without his team). He's currently not in a community program, so he hangs out a little too much with his mom and listens to a lot of radio. He enjoys your show because, while he may have been born with a learning disability and some physical limitations, he is very much a 25 year old guy. The way you guys talk "frank" (no pun intended) about all subjects suits his great personality. His speech articulation is poor, so unless you hang out with him awhile, you don't always understand what he's saying. However, there is not a joke going that he doesn't 'get'. Most people talk to him kind of simple, assuming the least from him, but when you guys talk, he's getting it all. Thanks for cheering up his mornings.
I just wanted to send this note because at the Morongo goodbye speech, Frank mentioned that your audience represented someone from all walks of life and then continued to list those types.... except, not one mention of someone with special needs. If my Nick loves your show, I'm sure there is many more special guys/girls like him out there. Don't overlook this group of people. They can be a very loyal audience and consumer. Anyway, just wanted to let you know.
Good Luck to all three of you!
