If you’ve ever fumbled with a ketchup packet in your car—or watched fries slide into a pool of sauce on your lap—Heinz says it’s come up with a cleaner solution.
The iconic condiment brand has unveiled the Heinz Dipper, a new fry box with a built-in ketchup compartment that allows customers to dip fries directly into the container. The design eliminates the need for packets, cups, or squeezing ketchup onto individual fries, making on-the-go dipping far less messy.
The new packaging is now rolling out at participating restaurants and sports stadiums in six U.S. cities, as well as in 10 other countries, including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Philippines, Thailand, China, and Kuwait.
According to Heinz, the idea was inspired by the universal frustration of eating fries with ketchup outside a restaurant. The company says 70% of people who eat fries with ketchup have spilled sauce while dipping on the go, and 80% have considered skipping condiments altogether because traditional packaging is too inconvenient.

The Heinz Dipper combines fries and ketchup into a single container, featuring a built-in dipping well designed to keep the sauce in place—even while moving.
“As more eating occasions happen away from home through drive-thrus and on-the-go moments, the Heinz Dipper is a fun and relevant way to innovate and meet fans where they are,” said Nina Patel, vice president of the global Heinz brand at Kraft Heinz.
More than 20 restaurants and sports venues worldwide are participating in the launch, with fries being served in the new containers while supplies last. Fans can find participating locations and learn more at heinz.com/heinzdipper.
