Even global superstars have to deal with the dreaded “card declined” moment.
While in Italy covering the upcoming Winter Games, Snoop Dogg found himself in an unexpectedly relatable situation: his credit card wouldn’t go through at dinner.
The 54-year-old rap icon is in Milan-Cortina serving as an NBC correspondent for the 2026 Winter Olympics. During a stop in Livigno, he swung by local gastropub Cronox and ordered like a man with serious cravings — a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets, and fries.
But when it came time to pay? Awkward.
According to Sofia Valmadre, whose family owns the restaurant, Snoop’s card simply wouldn’t process. Staff tried running it, but no luck.
“He sent his staff to take the card and pay, but they couldn’t,” Valmadre said in a video that quickly made the rounds online. “I don’t know why — it wasn’t going. So my mother told him it was OK to take the food without paying.”
Instead of making a scene, the “Gin and Juice” rapper handled it in stride. And he didn’t forget the kindness.
A short time later, Snoop repaid the family-run spot with something far more valuable than the cost of his meal: five tickets to the men’s snowboard halfpipe final at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Talk about an upgrade from fries to finals.
The wholesome moment quickly blew up on social media, with fans amused that even the man who once rapped about having his “mind on my money” still has to battle modern banking hiccups.
Snoop has been fully embracing his Olympic role, even snagging a snowboarding lesson from gold medalist Shaun White while on assignment.
Moral of the story? Sometimes your card gets declined. But if you’re Snoop Dogg, you just turn it into an Olympic-sized thank you.
