National Donut Day is back, and donut lovers have plenty of reasons to celebrate on Friday, June 5. What started in 1938 as a way to honor the Salvation Army's "Donut Lassies," who served treats to soldiers during World War I, has become one of the tastiest food holidays of the year.

This year, major chains across the country are offering free donuts, deep discounts, and special promotions to mark the occasion.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is offering one free donut of your choice with no purchase required. Customers can stop by participating locations and pick their favorite donut for free. The chain is also running a bonus deal: buy any dozen donuts at regular price and get a dozen Original Glazed donuts for just $2.

Dunkin'

Dunkin' is once again celebrating National Donut Day with a free donut when customers purchase any beverage. The promotion is available at participating locations while supplies last. The coffee-and-donut giant is also releasing limited-edition merchandise as part of its annual celebration.

Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts is giving customers a free classic donut with no purchase necessary at participating shops. Guests can also take advantage of additional promotions, including six classic donuts for $6 and a free rubber duck with the purchase of a dozen donuts while supplies last.

7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes

Members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards programs can grab classic glazed donuts for just 50 cents each on June 5. The convenience store chain is also offering 7-Select Mini Donut packs for $1 through June 23.

Shipley Do-Nuts

Shipley Do-Nuts is offering a free glazed donut with any purchase on National Donut Day. The company is extending the celebration throughout June by giving away free glazed donuts with purchases every Friday during the month.

Honey Dew Donuts

Honey Dew customers can receive a free donut with the purchase of a drink at participating locations, making it an easy way to enjoy a sweet treat alongside your morning coffee.

Paris Baguette

Members of the PB Rewards program can receive a free sugar mochi donut or small twist donut with any purchase on National Donut Day.

Don't Wait Too Long
