Originally founded in Seattle in 1999, 1 AWAY reformed in Southern California in 2003. Pulling on influences from hair metal to grunge to metalcore the band spent their time playing shows all over the Inland Empire, LA and the OC, while constantly focusing on writing new material. Through the years the band has performed at venues the likes of Chain Reaction, The Slidebar, Universal City Walk, House of Blues and The Roxy. 1 AWAY also competed in several radio station contests, winning one and making it to the finals in two others. In 2014 band members made the tough decision to put their instruments away and focus on careers and families.... Then 2020 came along and turned the world upside down and presented the opportunity to put the band back together. The band just released an EP of songs, recorded just before disbanding. So, in the spirit of "Stay or Go," the question here is should they stay gone or come back for another go?
